Hello! I'm Claire Burdick. Thank you for stopping by my page!

I'm a young woman who has always had a heart for nations of the world. I can think all the way back to my childhood days in VBS where Matthew 28:19-20 became my favorite verse:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Never did I expect to be a missionary serving in Africa for 14 months! Never say never, am I right?!

I am volunteering with the wonderful organization Mercy Ships in Madagascar from September 2024 to November 2025. As the Creative Coordinator, my team and I are tasked with telling the stories of hope and healing aboard the Africa Mercy through the medium of video. I am so excited for all the ways I will learn and grow from this experience, and I am humbled that Jesus would use me to serve in this unique way.

I first felt the tug to work for an overseas nonprofit in 2023, and after researching a few different organizations, I remembered Mercy Ships. I looked on their Volunteer page and quickly found a role on the Creative team that matched my skill sets and interests. I also saw a picture of a scuba diver from the ship and learned that they take volunteer scuba divers to help with routine maintenance under the vessel. That was the cherry on top! You mean I can incorporate my passion for scuba diving with missions work?! I'm in!

This will be an adventure unlike any other, but I can't lose sight of the fact that I am playing a small part in a grand story of God's kingdom on this earth. Please pray that I learn to live in humility and absolute surrender to the Lord. Please pray for the brave individuals who will receive their medical treatment aboard the ship. And please pray for God's will to be done through Mercy Ships. I would be ever so grateful for you interceding on my behalf!
